The breeding on this young female could not be finer, bringing in Champions and National Champions on both sides and going back six generations. For example, HOF CH Elhew Snakefoot appears six times in this pedigree. Other notable dogs are on the Sire line, CH Westfall’s Black Ice that goes back to the legendary CH Rock Acre Blackhawk and CH Rock Acre Vindicator.
Sire’s Dam line is impressive on both sides with HOF Elhew Snakefoot on the top and Elhew Strike Guard on the bottom. The Dam line does not disappoint on the top side with CH Elhew Sinbad, by CH Island Grove Brute, back to CH Barshoe Brute.
2X CH Elhew Sinbad won the Mississippi Open Shooting Dog Championship (2006), was runner-up in the North Carolina Open Shooting Dog Championship (2007), won the Border International (All-Age) Championship (2009), and was runner-up in the Texas Open Championship in 2012, his final placement.
The world of field trialing has been impacted by his offspring. To date his production record stands at 89 winners with 509 wins, fourteen of those winners are champions including Hall of Fame electee Ch. Covey Rise’s Offlee Amazing. Females from his get are coveted and have proven to be "blue hens". He made his dam, Hall of Fame Ch. Elhew Swami, very proud.
Elhew Swami, known as "Bama", she ended her career with 16 open shooting dog Championships with 13 runner up championships a total of 40 wins and won National Shooting Dog of the year 3 times. She was as tough of a competitor as you will find in any sport.
Her tenacity can be attributed to Sinbad as he seems to pass this on especially to females. On the bottom, the bloodlines are as impressive as they get. Hackberry’s Numark Piper by CH Elhew Explorer by Elhew Discovery out of Elhew Kelly, both out of the brilliant nicks of HOF CH Elhew Snakefoot and Elhew Calamity Ann and CH Elhew Strike and Elhew Kiwi. Katniss already exhibits a keen nose for birds and a great attitude for hunting. At just 12 weeks old in the woods with older dogs, her ground pattern had already emerged. She is in training with Craig Steinbach of Fly N Gun Kennels and will start trialing summer 2020.

We are committed to breeding top English Pointers with correct conformation, great desire to hunt, tenacity, and willingness. We believe in the Silent Command System employed by the Smith Training Method, masterfully employed by Craig Steinbach at Fly -N- Gun Kennels. Our dogs are exposed to birds and hunting at a very young age, making the training process more seamless and less stressful overall. This ensures a wonderful hunting experience for both dog and owner.
